The Padcooling system of Scan-Air works by evaporating water in the warm outside air. Incoming air flows through a continuously moistened plastic / cellulose pad placed in front of the air inlet. A pipe above the pad ensures even water distribution, keeping the entire cooling pad wet. As the water flows through the pad, part of it evaporates. During this evaporation process, heat is extracted from the air, resulting in a temperature drop. The remaining water is collected in a gutter at the bottom and reused.
